BASIC INFO.
A member of Verona's ruling council and an actor for the Rose Theater. Although he loved and respected his cousin Romeo in childhood, Benvolio had an introverted personality that prevented him from socializing with Romeo directly, so he convinced himself that he was content with watching over Romeo from afar. He studied diplomacy and politics abroad in order to be of help to the future Lord Montague, but Benvolio's modest desire to be helpful to Romeo went unfulfilled after Romeo was forced to fake his death and take up a new identity as the mysterious playwright Bill the Bard. Following a series of political incidents (one such incident being Benvolio's unchecked depression driving a spiritual guardian-king into a rampage), the government of Verona was overhauled and turned into a republic, leaving Benvolio's dream of serving his Lord Montague in the dust. Fortunately, he's found a new hobby in performing Romeo's plays...
